In a follow-up to our recent coverage, we’re excited to confirm that Lola Lo’s, one of Cambridge’s most beloved nightlife spots, is getting a fresh new identity. The venue is officially rebranding as KiKi, marking a significant shift in the local nightlife scene under the direction of its new owner, Louise Holly.
Louise, who has already made her mark with successful venues like Chalk and Dust in Brighton, has a deep personal connection to the space. She shared, “I am so excited we have bought Lola Lo. It was the first-ever club night I ran (Thursdays at Lola) from the very first day it opened its doors. So, Lola Lo has always had a really special piece of my heart, and it’s a venue I have always loved and have had some brilliant memories in. It feels right that we are able to buy it and rejuvenate it for the next generation to enjoy.”
The transformation into KiKi is one of the biggest changes to hit Cambridge nightlife since the closure of Ballare, and it’s stirring up a lot of excitement. While Louise is keeping most of the details under wraps, she teased, “You will have to wait and see what we have planned.” Given her track record, it’s safe to say that whatever’s coming will be worth the wait.
With KiKi, Cambridge is set to see a new chapter unfold in its nightlife history, blending the spirit of Lola Lo’s with a fresh, modern twist. As the anticipation builds, one thing is clear: KiKi is poised to become the city’s next big thing. Stay tuned for more updates as we follow this exciting transformation!
