The Ideal Common Denominator
Clubs have always fascinated me as spaces where everyone can come together, transcending backgrounds, interests, and identities. There’s a reason they’re called clubs—these places are more than just venues; they’re common ground for shared experiences. They’re a reflection of our desire to connect, to belong to something bigger, and to find unity in a world […]
Reflections on Cambridge’s Changing Nightlife
When I think about how much the Cambridge nightlife scene has changed over the years, it’s hard to believe. I’ve been involved in this world for longer than I’ll admit, and it’s been a wild ride—full of highs, lows, and more unexpected shifts and twists than I ever imagined. What started as a buzzing, packed-out […]
Saying Goodbye to Momentum Mondays: The Reality of Running a Club Night
When I first stepped into the world of Cambridge nightlife, I had no idea how much it would become a part of me. I didn’t see it evolving into the mixed reality it is today—part passion project, part personal journey, and part rollercoaster ride. It’s become less about presenting the “best night out” and more […]
Leaving so soon? Why are patrons getting an earlier night?
For years, clubbing has been a staple of Cambridge’s social scene, especially for university students looking to unwind after a day of lectures or research. Club Lights and Chaos – When Escapism Becomes Self-Destruction
For a while, my life was moving at breakneck speed, in no particular direction – until it hit a brick wall. It was a long time coming; I’d been warned and failed to act in my own best interest. I was drowning my sorrows seven days a week, feeling all too sorry for myself, and using clubbing, drinking, and whatnot as a way to escape the stress and pressures of prior ‘trauma’ (I hate calling it that), recent personal events, as well as everyday life. Nights blurred together, then weeks, then months, and I was unable to remember anything from the night before. It was never going to end well.
