Bongo’s Bingo isn’t just a bingo night—it’s a full-throttle mix of games, partying, and absolute mayhem. With music, dancing, and some truly bizarre prize giveaways, it’s a night out like no other. But does it live up to the hype? Absolutely. On Friday the 21st I was invited down to find out for myself.

Atmosphere & Entertainment

From the moment we took our seats by the stage, it was clear this wasn’t going to be a standard bingo night. The energy in the room was electric—people were on their feet, chanting, cheering, and waving their bingo books in the air before the first number had even been called. The hosts were absolute pros at working the crowd, effortlessly bouncing between calling numbers and hyping up the next ridiculous challenge.

One minute, we were furiously dabbing numbers in the hope of winning an inflatable unicorn or some cash money, the next, we were on our chairs belting out 80’s classics with strangers. The performers didn’t just stick to the stage either—they were out in the crowd, interacting with tables, making sure everyone was fully involved in the madness. At one point, I found myself caught in the crossfire of a Coco Pops explosion, and I’m convinced there’s still some buried deep in my jeans.

The event attracted a great mix of people, with loads of hen parties, birthday groups, and even people who had travelled in from outside Cambridge to be there. That in itself was great to see, it’s not often you get an event in Cambridge that pulls in such a diverse crowd. And speaking of getting involved, I made the rookie mistake of wearing iconic sunglasses, only for the DJ & performers to temporarily nick them. Was I robbed? Yes. Did it add to the experience? Also yes.

The Downsides: Drinks Prices

While the entertainment was top-tier, the drinks prices were daylight robbery. Almost £12 for a double rum and coke? At that price, I expected it to be served in a gold-plated goblet with a personal apology from the venue. This isn’t Bongo’s Bingo’s fault—it’s down to the Corn Exchange—but still, it took the edge off an otherwise brilliant night. We spent an eye-watering circa £100 between the two of us.

Safety & Security

One thing the Corn Exchange did get right was security. There were plenty of staff around, keeping things under control without killing the vibe. With a crowd that was both excitable and several drinks deep, it was good to know there was a watchful eye over everything.

Would I Go Again?

Bongo’s Bingo is the definition of organised chaos, and for a big group night out, it delivers. If it was part of a work social, a birthday celebration, or even a stag do, I’d absolutely go again.
