So, it’s no secret that Lola Lo’s in Cambridge is legendary in the nightlife scene. And guess what? They’ve just given birth to a brand-new Thursday night event called SLAY, and I had the privilege of witnessing its early stages. Let’s dive right into this exciting addition to Cambridge’s nightlife, shall we?

Venue: Lola Lo’s hardly needs an introduction for the locals, but for the uninitiated, picture a tropical paradise right in the heart of Cambridge. Their décor is like a holiday in a nightclub – you can almost hear the seagulls and bloke selling you fake watches. The only thing missing is the sand.

Security: I’m no security expert (I worked in Security for three years on the doors in Cambridge), but I noticed something. Lola Lo has clearly been playing with the security settings. They’ve taken it up a notch with a team stationed right next to the DJ booth(s), casting their eyes over the crowd; entry was smooth, IDs were scanned and people were searched. It’s reassuring to see them actively working towards a secure nightlife environment for all. Safety and security – they’ve got it figured out.

Pleasing Alternative: Looking for a pleasing alternative to your usual haunt? Well, SLAY at Lola Lo offers just that. It’s a refreshing change from the routine.

VIP Treatment: Big shoutout to the VIP staff at Lola Lo – they know how to make you feel like you’re on the guest list for the party of the year. To add a cherry on top, when they decided to close the floor we were on, they whisked us away to another fresh table on a different floor. Exceptionally helpful and polite, these folks are like nightlife guardian angels.

Sizzling Atmosphere: Alright, folks, here’s the kicker – it gets hot in there. Not just ‘hot’ as in ‘cool party,’ but ‘hot’ as in ‘crank up the AC’ hot. As the night unfolds, the dance floor transforms into a sauna of excitement. Prepare to sweat out your dance moves and leave that extra layer at home.

Groovy Tunes: Now, let’s talk tunes. The music at SLAY is like your favourite guilty pleasure track – you know it’s cheesy, but it’s also undeniably fun. DJs keep the crowd grooving with their well-mixed tracks, even if you can predict the next beat.

Crowd Dynamics: Around 1:15 AM, some folks start migrating. It’s the nightlife shuffle in action. By 1:40 AM, the crowd thinned out a bit, but that’s standard protocol for late-night revelry on a weekday.

Cheesy Music: Now, let’s be real. The music might be cheesier than a cheese platter, but sometimes you just want to indulge in a guilty pleasure. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s all part of the SLAY experience.

In summary, Lola Lo’s SLAY night is a promising addition to Cambridge’s Thursday night scene. With Lola’s improved security, VIP perks that make you feel like royalty, and a playlist that’s as cheesy as it is fun, it’s a recipe for a fantastic evening. Just remember to get a water and bring a fan because things can get steamy.

So, whether you’re a seasoned club-goer or new to the scene, SLAY promises an evening filled with laughs, music, and unique moments.
